The Council for Business with Britain (CBB) organized a luncheon meeting and a presentation with Sir Paul Judge on Thursday February 07, 2013 at Hilton Colombo Residence,Colombo 02. Sir Paul was visiting Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Ministry of External Affairs, to support the Government of Sri Lanka’s priority of increasing business and management training of young people.

Sir Paul, in his presentation, shared his views on globalization, culture, management, and entrepreneurship. He stressed the importance of getting businessman to teach business in business colleges compared to lecturers which is the usual practice. Responding to a question raised by a participant Sir Paul said that actual understanding of business and entrepreneurship can be greatly improved in Sri Lanka by including more business related subjects in school curriculums. He also shared quite a few inspirational and motivational quotes with the participants.

Since 2008, Sir Paul Judge has served as the President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing- UK , President of the Association of MBA holders in UK and also serves as a special advisor to the Royal institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). He was knighted by the Queen in 1996. Sir Paul Judge is the Chairman/ Managing Director of Schroder Income Growth Fund PLC, and also holds director positions of many leading companies including Standard Bank Group of South Africa, ENRC Plc and Tempur-Pedic International. In 1990 he endowed GBP8m to the University of Cambridge to establish The Judge Business School.

H. E. John Rankin, British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka was also present at the forum.
